Victoria
Victoria is the name given to the medieval city of Gozo in 1887. It was in this same year that Victoria became to be known as City of Gozo. However, the word Rabat is still very popular. Victoria includes the Citadel, the old city as well as Rabat. The coat of arms of Victoria shows three hills on a blue background, with a golden streak with the letters VR red, upon all this there’s the facade of bastions with four watchtowers and a door altogether forming a crown.
Victoria huwa l-isem mogħti lill-belt medjevali ta ’Għawdex fl-1887. Kien f’ din l-istess sena li Victoria saret magħrufa bħala l-Belt ta ’Għawdex. Madankollu, il- kelma Rabat għadha popolari ħafna. Hawn huwa l post fejn tinsab iċ-Ċittadella. L-arma ta’ Victoria turi tliet għoljiet fuq sfond blu, bi strixxa lewn id-deheb bl-ittri VR aħmar, fuq dan kollu hemm il-faċċata ta’ bastjuni b’ erba’ torrijiet tal-għassa u bieb li jifforma kuruna.
