Qolla l‑Bajda

Qolla l‑Bajda is a coastal fort located near Marsalforn, built during the rule of the Order of St John, traditionally dated to the early 18th century. It formed part of Gozo’s coastal defence network, intended to protect bays from enemy landings and to support nearby batteries and lookout posts. Its solid, compact design reflects military architecture of the period, prioritising durability and strategic coastal control over ornamentation.
